Ecole nationale supérieure des mines de Saint-Etienne is an engineering school which belongs to the Ministry of Industry and is one of the top ten high selected educational institution in France dedicated to education and applied research.
The SITE division of ENSM.SE works on the conception and the development of methods, information systems, decision making tools, training courses and know-how transfer tools to produce, treat and diffuse information to industrial and public actors for the implementation of the sustainable development concept notably by a best envi-ronmental and risks management. The strategy of the SITE Centre consists in conceive and develop models in the follow-ing field: natural process, eco-industrial process, risks process, organisation (urban and industrial). The general policy of the SITE Division in research involve partners at three steps :
- Industrialists having to integrate sooner or later environmental constraints coming from international conventions
- Territorial communities responsible of the environmental management of their territories
- Organisms and institutions in charge of the elaboration and the application of the legislation
